Before the establishment of this Institute, trainees had no opportunity for practical and hands-on-the-job training, as the training imparted by other organizations was mostly theoretical.

Since inception, the Institute has trained over 3500 trainees, both men and women from India as well as overseas, in different Poultry Management Training programmes.

With establishment of new poultry farms, employment opportunities have increased in rural areas and the Institute has promoted entrepreneurship amongst the rural unemployed youth, by taking up Poultry Farming.

The Institute has a Placement Cell, which helps the successful trainees to obtain jobs. A number of Farmers, Corporations, Private Sector groups have recruited the candidates by campus interviews.
