UTTARA FOODS has surged ahead by setting up a Grain Milling unit at Uttarakshetram near Pune. This unit has the capacity to process 100 MT of wheat per day. By making use of sophisticated technology this unit produces Whole Wheat Chakki Fresh Atta (Traditional Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flour).

At UTTARA FOODS Quality is a way of life. The entire production process is controlled to critical specifications so as to maintain Quality, Purity and Hygiene.

The blend of wheat to be used in the milling process is considered first. Several types of wheat are analysed and only those which conform to our rigid QUALITY STANDARDS are put into our blend. Consistent quality of raw material is used so as to produce superior quality flour. After the raw material is selected, coarse impurities such as pieces of straw, strings, paper, etc. are removed before storing in silos.

Before the actual milling process commences, the wheat is thoroughly cleaned by making use of ADVANCED ITALIAN TECHNOLOGY. Light impurities are eliminated with the help of a Separator and a Destoner effectively removes stones and any other impurities that may be the same size as the wheat kernels. The high power Air Aspiration Centralized System keeps the entire floor dust free to ensure better hygienic conditions. A Magnetic Drum Separator removes the ferrous impurities from the wheat. A Scourer reduces the microbial content of the wheat . It removes the dirt adhering to the grain and eliminates insects and insect fragments thereby bringing the bacteria content to almost nil. This improves the quality significantly and ENSURES HYGIENE. An additional Dehuller imported from Italy removes the outer layer of the wheat kernel i.e. approximately 4% of the kernel so as to reduce the microbial content of the wheat to almost nil. This ensures superior quality of the flour as well as longer shelf life.

After the wheat is thoroughly cleaned in this manner, it is fed into Traditional Chakkis where it is ground into fine flour. The Multidec Sifters sieve the flour to give a uniform granule size resulting in fine texture of the flour. The flour, which has sifted to the bottom, is collected and packed in airtight food grade polyester poly pouches, which are thick enough to retain the freshness of the packed flour. This precision work is being done by packaging machinery imported from GERMANY.

The entire process is untouched by hand and thereby assures you of QUALITY, PURITY and HYGIENE. The process is programmed to critical specifications so as to ensure that the fiber content of the wheat is not lost during the milling process.
