A division of Venkateshwara Hatcheries Private Limited The Egg Powder Division operates the first world class egg processing plant in India. It was set up specifically to cater to the international market. Current breaking capacity is 1.50 million eggs per day. The machinery is supplied, installed and commissioned by Food Engineering Service, USA and Sanovo Engineering, Denmark, both world class leaders in egg processing echnology.
Venkateshwara Hatcheries Pvt. Ltd., the flagship Company of the VH Group was established in the year 1971 to produce Day Old Broiler/Layer Chicks and Poultry vaccines. It also established Poultry Diagnostic and Research Centre in Pune. During April,1995 Egg Powder Plant start operating. This was the first plant of its kind in India. The plant is located at Veljerla, 60 Kms South of Hyderabad.
The plant, its processes and products, strictly conform to international standards (USDA and EU regulations). The raw material and finished products are tested for their chemical, microbiological and physical properties as per EU regulations. We have well equipped Corporate Laboratory of Venkateshwara Hatcheries located in Pune where all batches are tested particularly for pesticide residues, antibiotic residues & Nitrofuran metabolites apart from the in-house Laboratory control of production of shell eggs meant for Egg Powder Plant. The factory has HACCP, SQF2000CM,ISO:22000 quality certificates from SGS & Halal Certification from MUI, Indonesia. The QC personnel have been trained at similar facilities abroad and constitute the most highly qualified individuals in this field. Control over quality is further ensured by operating its own layer farms and feed mill. This ensures regularity of quality shell egg supplies.
The plant is located far away from Poultry frams and Industrial Areas to prevent the possibility of accidental contamination.
Egg processing is carried out in a fully automated and controlled microbe free environment.
- Eggs are received and tested in a fully equipped quality control laboratory before being accepted for processing.
- The eggs are then washed in warm water with approved Sanitizer followed by rinsing in 100 – 200 ppm chlorine water.
- After candling, the cleaned eggs are broken in the egg breaking machine.
- The liquid is filtered, chilled, pasteurized in a UHT triple tube pasteurizer, fermented (only for albumen liquid), spray dried and subsequently packed.
Egg products are exported to Europe, South East Asia, Middle East, Japan, Australia etc.
